Baseball Was The Big K.R.I.T.’s Obsession

,

The Big K.R.I.T. was an outfielder, catcher, and pitcher.

Rapper The Big K.R.I.T. is well known for hits like The Vent, which helped him earn a spot on the 2011 XXL Freshman Class list with Meek Mill, Mac Miller, and Lil Twist. But music isn’t all that he’s known for.

K.R.I.T. was a baseball star during his time at Meridian High. Jason Jordan interviewed K.R.I.T. in 2014, and you can read a text of that interview here. In the piece, K.R.I.T talks about his playing days–how he once pitched a no-hitter in a state championship game–and his desire to play for the North Carolina Tarheels had he stayed with the game.

This article is written in loving memory of K.R.I.T.’s XXL Freshman Classmate, Fred The Godson, who lost his life recently to COVID-19. RIP FTG.
