, ,

Only 18 years old, FTG Metro (Manyok Akol) was considered a positive influence.

Canada’s Manyok Akol went by the rapping name, FTG Metro. Akol was a defensive lineman for the Bell Warriors football club. In 2014, Akol played for the Myers Raiders bantam team that won the Ontario Varsity Football League provincial championship. He was also named one of Ontario’s Top 90 players.

As FTG Metro, Akol had recorded three songs, including Rainy Days.

Metro’s lyrics focused on this issue of worldwide child poverty.

At 18, Akol was set to sign a record deal when intruders broke into the AirBNB in Ottawa where he was staying and began shooting. Akol was killed and several others were injured.

RIP FTG Metro!
