It’s Time for Jason Garrett to Go!

Jerry Jones needs to take a long look in the mirror, too. New coach and new Jerry are needed to get Cowboys back on the championship track.

There is absolutely no excuse! The Dallas Cowboys not only lost to the injury-riddled Philadelphia Eagles, but they also weren’t able to put the ball in the end zone. How pathetic! And it was against a Philly defense that allowed 27 points last week to a bad team with a rookie quarterback. Unreal!

Cowboys fans have had it! So has Jerry Jones. We are witnessing the end of Jason Garrett as the Cowboy’s head coach. I don’t wish good people losing their jobs, but Garrett has been paid handsomely to put an ultra-talented team on the field. And he has failed. Period!

I know Kellen Moore is the offensive coordinator, but Jason Garrett is the head coach. Giving Ezekiel Elliott 13 carries in a do-or-die divisional battle is simply ludicrous. Then, on the Cowboys last offensive play, Amari Cooper was on the sideline–not because he was hurt, Garrett said, but because it was Tavon Austin’s turn in the rotation. Are you kidding me?

This season has been a let down for all those fans who assumed Dallas would represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this year–or, at the very least, would reach the NFC Championship Game.

In reality, this team won’t finish better than .500, and they’ll need major help to get into the playoffs.

And this team controlled its own destiny! Dallas couldn’t beat the one team they had to beat. That tells us either the players are terrible or the coaching is miserable. I’ll take Option B.

It’s time for Garrett to go. I’m not sure that naming his successor is all that important at the moment–no matter whether it’s Lincoln Riley, Urban Meyer, Mike McCarthy, or my sleeper pick, Jim Harbaugh. The big issue is to get Jason Garrett out of town.

Jerry Jones has already paid the majority of his star players, and you know Dak Prescott is going to get his. So Jerry isn’t going to start shipping players out of town. He has the players he wants–just not the right coach.

Yes, there’s something to be said about Jones wanting a puppet coach, but this time the string broke and Jones probably wants a new toy. He needs to stop that nonsense. Jones needs to play a less significant role with the Cowboys–IF he wants to win another title–which of course, he does.

So this will be a very interesting offseason for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. The team needs a disciplinarian who’s respected in the NFL–someone who has a voice that players listen to and–most importantly–somebody who won’t have Jerry Jones breathing down his neck!

Time to put ego aside, Jerry.
