Last weekend through earlier this week, chess prodigy Mithun Pranav participated in the 2nd Thailand Pattaya Youth International Chess tournament. The competition was held in Pattaya, Thailand, at the Bay Beach Resort overlooking Jomtien Beach. The event was organized by 101 Chess Academy and the Bangkok Chess Club.
Pranav participated in the Under-8 category with over 100 other young players. Matches were structured with time control set at 90 minutes with 30-second intervals from the first move.
Pranav emerged as tournament champion in the Under-6 category with 5/9 points. Overall, he finished in 8th position among all young boys who participated.
