Liverpool looks unstoppable. But if lightning strikes again, Man City will overtake Liverpool and win the Premier League title.
Liverpool continued their impressive start last Saturday when they narrowly edged a tough Leicester City side, 2-1, at home, thanks to James Milner’s stoppage-time penalty. It came after Sadio Mane’s early strike was canceled out by James Maddison’s late equalizer in the 80th minute.
While Liverpool celebrated, reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City, were on the wrong side of the stick courtesy of the Wolves, 2-0. Adama Traore single-handedly put the sword to City.
Liverpool have stretched the lead to eight points, impressively collecting 24 out 24 possible points after eight contests.
While many pundits have already crowned Liverpool as title-winner, I think it’s too early for that. Let’s just say it might be better to pencil in Liverpool with a crayon, not with ink. Man City has the capacity to catch up. Just think about what happened last year when Man City trailed Liverpool?
Will history repeat? We’ll see.
