History isn’t on Real Amigo’s side, but grit and determination may be the difference against defending champ, Ghana FC.
This Sunday, Real Amigos will play Ghana FC in Philippines 7s Football League play. Real Amigos goes into the game 2-0, while defending champion, Ghana FC, is 1-1, having lost their second game to Mondo FC.
Real Amigos is always an underdog when facing Ghana FC, so is this the right time to face Ghana FC?
I posed that question to Real’s midfielder, Godwin Odogu, and he thinks being an underdog is a good thing for his team.
“It’s going to be a really tough game for both sides,” the Nigerian midfielder said. “Ghana FC will be hungry after losing their last game. If they underrate us, we’re capable of pulling off a surprise.”
“We need to be ready to sacrifice for the team,” Odogu concluded.
Ivorian midfielder, Bamba Valey, agrees.”We have to play together. Be brave, determined, and courageous. We need to take chances, too.”
Gametime is set for 5:30 p. at McKinley Hill Stadium.
