Kimbo Slice, a force who died young.

Many people may not know the name of Kimbo Slice. He was a boxer and a good one, too. He beat one opponent in only 19 seconds.

Slice was born in The Bahamas but moved to Miami as a youth. Football was his first sport, and he became a star quarterback on his high school team. He played college ball for the Miami Hurricanes, and Slice had a short stint with the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

After he got into trouble with the law, Slice’s sports interests shifted to boxing. He started participating in underground boxing matches, showing that he could box. Then Slice went on to participate in WWE, UFC, and MMA matches. There, he beat the likes of Ray Mercer, Tank Abbot, and James Thompson.

Kimbo Slice never became all that he could have become. That’s because he died in 2016 from heart failure. He was only 43 years old.
