Miller is one of the best high school teams in the Coastal Bend of Texas, outscoring opponents, 130-9, through two weeks of play.
Miller Bucs are the real deal! With an explosive offense and solid defense, Miller is primed to reach the playoffs for the first time in years.
With QB Andrew Body returning for his junior year, this team ready to roll. Last year, Body threw for 3,455 yards and had 34 touchdown passes.
To help, he has one of the best receiving corps in the Coastal Bend in Ralph Rodriguez and Cassius Clay. Rodriguez, who’s ranked as the #5 wideout in Texas, caught 60 passes for 1,320 yards and scored 15 times last year. Clay is off to an explosive start to the 2019 campaign.
Head coach Justen Evans, who’s just the right person to lead the Bucs into the state playoffs, saw his team start the season with a bang. The Bucs won the season’s first two games by an average score of 65-4.
In Week 1 against Highlands, Body threw for 382 yards and had six–that’s right–six TD passes. This past weekend against Sinton, he tacked on 445 yards and added four touchdown passes. Three of those scores went to Rodriguez, while Clay had four.
With these three stars carrying the load, the Miller Bucs could make up a deep playoff run.
