“Don’t let them get to you,” Wade said.
Lil Nas X is well known for his breakout single, Old Town Road, which might break the Billboard Hot 100 record and has gotten remixes from Billy Ray Cyrus, Young Thug, The Wal-Mart Yodeling Kid, Rap Monster, and Diplo, with a possible Dolly Parton remix on the way.
He is also known for coming out as gay, getting lessons on how to make a panini from Gordon Ramsey, and a $25 million dollar lawsuit from Bobby Caldwell for sampling his song, Carry On.
But the 20-year-old country megastar has got the sport of choice in the back, in addition to the horses. Lil Nas X’s sport of choice is basketball. He already has earned the respect of basketball star Dwayne Wade.
When Lil Nas was being bullied for coming out as gay. as much as he was being supported, Dwayne stepped in and gave him what is some of the best advice ever. “Focus on the positives,” said Dwayne on Instagram. “Don’t let them get to you.”
That just goes to show that the LGBTQ community are human beings who should be respected. Lil Nas X just earned Dwayne Ward’s respect.
