There are plenty of good moments on The Loud House. These five aren’t among them.
I’ve written about The Loud House previously, focusing on this unique program and how it features sports. In this piece, I write about the less-than-exciting ways that the program features sports or, to put it another way–when you want to throw the remote at your TV. Here are my picks for the five worst sports moments from ‘The Loud House.’
5. Lyn is skating to steal Lily’s toy. In the episode, The Crying Dame, Lily can’t seem to stop crying. So her siblings give her ‘Fenton The Fun-Time Fox,’ a toy Lori used to play with as a kid. But the toy quickly proves to drive everyone crazy, so everyone decides to throw away the toy. In the montage of the toy stealing, Lyn is seen riding skates. Skating is a good way to get active, but it’s not good if you use it to steal a baby’s toy.
4. Lyn and Lyn Sr. is unplugging with soccer. In the episode, Anti Social, Lyn Sr. (the father) notices that everyone is spending too much time on technology, especially Lori. So he declares war on tech. But he’s also shown that tech can make life easier–from getting through a to-do list to making a bandage. Lyn Sr. gets so hooked on technology, that the kids have to turn off the internet. In one scene, Lyn and Lyn Sr are playing soccer, but Lyn Sr. is too eager to get back on his phone. Soccer can be a good way to bond, but not if you’re on the phone.
3. Elevator Racing. In the episode, Loud House Resort, Lyn Sr. and Rita let the kids come along with them on a resort vacation–but only because if they promise to behave. Lyn Jr. and Lana break the promise by playing a new sport called ‘elevator racing.’
That’s not a good moment, and it’s not even a sport. It’s dangerous!
2. Hero Today, Gone Tomorrow. In this episode, Lyn’s fellow soccer teammate scores a one-in-a-million soccer goal to great acclaim. Lyn tries her best to be supportive, but teammates should support each other, anyway.
1. Lyn training the young kids. In the episode, Sitting Bull, Lori, Leni, Luna, and Luan decide to let Lyn into their babysitting club. But it doesn’t work out. Lyn is bad at the job. Among her miscues is forcing kids to use pickles as weights and making them eat raw eggs. Rather than being applauded for babysitting, Lyn is setting up herself to be accused of child negligence.
Yeah, these are five, bad episodes. Still, though, I think ‘The Loud House’ is a fantastic show. Clunkers were bound to happen.
