Parents set an awful example.
Little League Baseball games are supposed to be fun. Right? They’re supposed to be a way to support kids. Sure! They’re not supposed to be a place where parents go after each other. Well, maybe….
Some parents in Lakewood, Colorado whiffed in that regard. They started pushing and shoving in response to an umpire’s call–a 13-year-old umpire, mind you. A video of the raucous shows moms and dads duking it out on the field.
Aspen police are investigating the incident. If found culpable, these parents could face assault and, possibly, child endangerment charges. Jail sentences could follow.
What can we take away it from this incident? Mature action is always required, and parents need to set an example. This time they didn’t–and at a League League game, for Pete’s sake.
