Snoop Dogg is a person of many interests, talents, and pursuits.
Calvin Broadus, AKA Snoop Doggy Dogg, is a one-person band, both rapper and lyricist. He’s also a producer, director, actor, chef and father of four. And let’s add football to Snoop’s resume. He owns a football league and also serves as a coach.
The Snoop Football League was launched in 2005. The league’s season includes seven games starting in September, continues with a three-week playoff, and concludes with a ‘Super Bowl” in November.
Along the way, the players get a chance to get a full football experience, including traveling to other cities to play rival teams.
According to the league’s website, a primary objective of the association is for kids “to learn the values of character, integrity, discipline, and teamwork through football.”
Snoop is a role model for these kids–a dramatic change from his former life–which included a first-degree murder charge (later dropped).
It’s Snoop’s effort–a laudable one, too–to help kids develop into young men.
