Son is turning heads in Premier League play.
Tottenham Hotspur playmaker, Heung-Min Son, has been in the form of his life this year. That’s why he’s in contention to get Player of the Season accolades. Son has fifteen Premier League starts to his name and has come off the bench five times. He has bagged 11 league goals with five assists.
Many thought that the Spurs’ top-four finish hung by a thread when talisman, Harry Kane, went down with an injury. To make matters worse, Delle Alli also picked up a niggle and Son looked fatigued from participating on the South Korean national team.
Guess what? Those concerns were unfounded.
Tottenham is third in the table, comfortably ahead of fourth place Man U. Spurs have won three straight, highlighted by Son’s late winner against Newcastle on February 2. Those wins are keeping the Spurs title hopes alive (five points between Liverpool and Man City, the teams tied at the top).
And Son is one of the reasons things are looking good at Tottenham. As Southhampton legend, Matt Le Tissier told Sky Sports: “He’s hitting form at the right, that’s the thing with the player of the year.” He’s right. Stats tell the tale. Son had a brace against Everton in December and a second brace against Bournemouth just a few days later.
Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright, was so impressed by Son’s form in that he told BBC that “Son is 60-70 million euros now.”
Yes, fans. He’s worth it, too.
