I think the Olympics are in Katelyn’s future.
You’re going to hear a lot about Katelyn Touhy in the next few years. Katelyn grew up in suburban Rockland County, New York. Parents Patrick and Denise are runners, and Katelyn followed in her parent’s footsteps.
At ten years of age, Coach Brian Diglio spotted Katelyn running with her parents. He immediately noticed her talent and soon became her coach.
In middle school, Katelyn began setting records. As a 7th Grader, Katelyn took 32 seconds off the historic Van Cortlandt Park course record at 13:21 for the 2½-mile. Later–as a high school sophomore–Katelyn won the 2017 Nike National cross country championship.
Katelyn Touhy’s performances in 2017-2018 earned her the title of ‘Gatorade Female Cross Country Player of the Year’ and the ‘Gatorade Female Track & Field Player of the Year.’ She is the first athlete ever to capture those awards in two sports.
I predict you’ll be seeing Katlyn representing the U.S. in the Olympics. Watch the video to see why.
