It’s three months out from the 2019 Arnold Sports Festival, and Amanda Lawrence is a gal to watch. At only 21 years of age, Lawrence has reached an elite level–a level that most will never reach.

And she’s on a hot streak. How hot? Red hot!
At her last meet, Lawrence squatted an impressive 540 lbs. on her 3rd attempt in the 84 kg weight division. But just a few months later, and she set a new PR record of 570 lbs. If done in competition, that lift would have topped the International Powerlifting Federation’s world record–and by over 100 lbs., to boot!
With a number like that, her famous hashtag–#roadto600—doesn’t seem an impossible dream.
And Lawrence is also showing impressive numbers in the deadlift. With a recent gym PR of 585 lbs., she has entered rarified air in powerlifting circles. Even on her bench press–the weakest lift in her portfolio–she has been lifting in the mid-to-upper 200s.
With the 2019 Arnold Festival scheduled for late February-early March, the only question is how much progress she’ll make between now and then.
My take is that Lawrence’s quest for ‘600’ is looking more promising than ever. Mark this, too: a world championship is in her future.
