Here are details of a recent meeting held on the U.S. West Coast.
Delano, CA city council member, Joe Aguirre, recently met with Mr. Hari Osias Banaag, member of the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee for UNESCO’s Traditional Sports and Games. The meeting was held in Delano, CA, USA.
Hari explained to Aguirre that safeguarding Traditional Sports and Games (TSG) promotes cultural practices, represents opportunities for intercultural and intercommunity exchange, and builds sustainable and ethical sports based on cultural practices.
He also said that UNESCO has a visionary platform that includes the International Festival of Traditional Sports and Games.
Mr. Shammi Rana, Rapporteur, Traditional Sports and Games, UNESCO, also attended the meeting.
