Has Rassie Erasmus Dug Himself A Grave At Springboks?

This weekend’s match against New Zealand may prove to be pivotal.

Under Coach Rassie, the Springboks have already played seven matches and lost four. The latest knocks were at the hands of Argentina and Australia, respectively, in Test Matches. This weekend the Springboks will play at New Zealand, the world’s #1 team.

When Erasmus started, he looked to be the right man for the job. He named Siya Kolisi, the first black captain in the history of the Springboks, won England test, and achieved a balance in race selection.

But the team’s performance on the field has been lacking and the contest with New Zealand looks to be an insurmountable task.

My take is that time is running out for Rassie to impress. If results don’t start coming his way, then he’ll surely find himself in the same place that the former coach, Allister Coetzee, was in just a few months ago.

Has Rassie already dug himself a hole at the Boks? The way to answer ‘no’ is to be consistent in his flyhalf choice and to reduce his rotations.
