“Playing in the Philippines has prepared me mentally and physically,” Stephen Appiah

“It is difficult to play in Europe, but it is better. It requires hard work,” Stephen Appiah says. After spending successful seasons in the Philippines, the 22-year-old Ghanian striker is now ready to ply his trade in Serbia.

Appiah arrived in the Philippines from Ghana full of hope and expectation. In 2016 he joined the Manila Nomads. He scored 10 goals in 8 matches and was selected for the UFL ‘Rest Of The World’ team, where he scored 1 minute into the game.

His performance with the Nomads didn’t go unnoticed.

Kaya FC first team scouted young Appiah, but rules forced the Ghanaian striker to play on the Kaya B team. where he (again) excelled: 45 goals in 20 games in the 2017 WFL Elite division.

In January 2018, Appiah joined Green Archers United. He was featured in one game before his move to Europe.

After arriving in Servia, Appiah had a successful tryout with Serbja Superliga side Napredak. However, due to a delay in his ITC, he joined Serbian first league Football Klub Radnicki, which is located in the city of Kragujevac.

To Appiah, every football experience matters. “I started playing in the Philippines as a teenager and that has prepared me mentally and physically for going forward,” Appiah said.

Appiah is managed by Marlon Hwang of Uno football management.
