Play with heart. Give your heart.
Whether it’s the smell of the grass, the light shining down on the court, or the white chalk that marks the lanes around an oval shape track, senses tell us when it’s time to compete. And any coach will tell you that competing is more than having talent. It’s also very much about having ‘heart.’
Players with heart urge on the team. They show up every day giving 100 percent, in games and also in practice. And they’re the ones kids should model. Lessons learned?
Work hard. Be a good teammate. Focus on the team, not me.
Let’s face it, the heart is the strongest muscle in the body. The heart sends signals to the brain to say when a body is tired. But the heart can also make you go faster, to push yourself harder.
Those with heart always know they’ve done their best–no matter what the scoreboard says at game’s end. They not only played with heart; they gave their heart to teammates and fans.
