Education is incomplete without sports. Written by Ronju, Bangladesh
The growing popularity of computer, video games, and television have contributed to youth inactivity. Less time is being spent in physical activity.
Sports in the life of a young person is invaluable, going much further than “just keeping kids off the streets.” Sports instill life lessons. Among other things, sports help youth gain discipline, take responsibility, become more self-confidence, and learn the importance of being accountable.
Coaches help make all of that possible. Yes, I said coaches, because it’s one of their primary responsibilities. And it won’t happen unless youth trust them. If coaches can get youth to believe in them, then it’s likely that positive behavioural change will follow.
I believe that education is incomplete without sports. Children need to participate in sports games as early as possible. Active engagement is a way to combat the culture of overeating and inactive lifestyles.
Let’s get active!
