Rana was inducted on May 19 in a ceremony held in Los Angeles.
Shammi Rana
A professional athlete, Rana holds memberships in over ten martial arts organizations throughout Asia and has more than twenty years of experience at top levels of the sport. A sports diplomat, he has worked with state dignitaries around the world to promote political and social relations at the highest levels of government.
In 2017 Rana was appointed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization as Rapporteur of the UNESCO Traditional Sports and Games Ad Hoc Advisory Committee. Rana is also Secretary-General of the Asian Belt Wrestling Federation.
Mr. Rana also serves on internationally governing associations, including as Vice President of the International Association of Traditional Wrestling Sports.
