Mom is the greatest and most blessed gift.
Mother’s Day is a very special day. But let’s face it: when it comes to honoring mothers, every day is a good day for that.
We all remember the teary-eyed Kevin Durant honoring his mother as he accepted his NBA MVP award. “You made us believe,” Durant said to his mother. “Kept us off the street. Put clothes on our backs, food on the table. When you didn’t eat, you made sure we ate. You sacrificed for us. You’re the real MVP.”
Serena Williams credits all of her amazing accomplishments to her mother, hoping that she can just do the same for her own daughter. “Thank you for being the role model I needed to endure all the hardships that I now regard as a challenges — ones that I enjoy,” she said. “I hope to teach my baby Alexis Olympia the same and have the same fortitude you have had. Promise me, Mom, that you will continue to help. I’m not sure if I am as meek and strong as you are yet. I hope to get there one day. I love you dearly.”
The Yankees’ Aaron Judge knows who cleared the path for his success. “I know I wouldn’t be a New York Yankee if it wasn’t for my mom,” Judge said.
“The guidance she gave me as a kid growing up, knowing the difference between right and wrong, how to treat people and how to go the extra mile and put in extra work, all that kind of stuff. She’s molded me into the person that I am today.”
