Moving forward is what winners do. It’s also how winning is done.
We all have obstacles in life. At issue is overcoming those problems.
If you’re an athlete, then you know how important it is to walk off the field or court–win or lose–knowing that you didn’t let your team down.
To get to that point, athletes need to make a commitment–to be the best version of themselves they can possibly be. It requires things like getting up to train early in the morning to train, staying late at practice, and setting goals. With efforts like those, an athlete you can feel good about her/himself.
But no matter how hard your work or how determined you are, athletes–like people–will sometimes fail. The quest at that point is for athletes to pick themselves up.
Learning how to cope with failure–a team loss or a personal mistake that costs a game–is one of the most important lessons in athletics.
It’s a life lesson, too. Everything athletes learn can in sports can (and should) be applied to life. In life, you win some and you lose some. The key is to always learn, to always move forward.
