Houston is primed to make a championship run.
The Rockets’ stellar run continued Saturday night with a win over the visiting New Orleans Pelicans. It was a record win, too–Houston’s 59th of the year. Chris Paul (sore hamstring) and Luke Mbah a Moute (sore left knee) missed the game with injuries, but that didn’t stymie the Rockets’ attack. They rolled, 119-91.
Head coach Mike D’Antoni was proud of his guys, not only because of the way they played, but also because they weren’t fazed by setting a record. “I just told them (about the record). They didn’t care. I’m kind of happy. I thought it was nice. They absolutely did not care.”
Like the team that won the NBA title back in 1994, this Houston squad has a championship on its mind.
With nine games left in the regular season, Houston is looking good to take the #1-seed in the NBA West. Then it will on to the highly competitive playoffs and a chance to prove that this team is good enough to cop an NBA championship.
With James Harden, Chris Paul, and Clint N’Dumba-Capela roaming the floor, don’t bet against it.
