It’s good to see Fultz back on the court–not just for the Sixers, but for the NBA, too.
On Monday, Philadelphia 76ers welcomed back top rookie Markelle Fultz. Fultz had been out of the lineup since October 23. Sixers’ fans gave Fultz a standing ovation as he stepped onto the court against the Denver Nuggets with 2:54 minutes left in the first quarter. Philadelphia went on to win the game, 123-104.
Fultz had an efficient game, recording 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists in 14 minutes of action.
“I was just focused on helping the team get the win, really. I wasn’t worried about how I played or what I did. I just wanted to go out there and keep the same energy they had going on. I think I did a pretty good job,” Fultz told NBC Sports.
The Sixers were in a celebratory mode, too–and not just because Fultz had returned. The team clinched a playoff berth following Saturday’s win over the Wolves. It will be the team’s first playoff action since 2011-12. And the Sixers will be an even better squad with Fultz returning to the lineup.
For a time, he’ll likely come off the bench to get his rhythm back. With nine games left in the regular season, Fultz should have enough time to mix into Philadelphia’s rotation.
