As good as is Anthony Davis, his teammates need to up their games as New Orleans steams towards the playoffs.
New Orleans Pelicans are on a roll and Anthony Davis is their go-to-guy after losing Demarcus Cousins to injury.
The Pelicans have started the second half of the season hot. They’re on a four-game winning streak and Davis is averaging 37.7 points, 15.7 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game in those games. The team, which now stands in 6th place in the NBA West, is looking good to book a spot in the upcoming playoffs.
Davis’ elite stats make him a prime candidate for NBA MVP.
But as good as he is, there’s no question that Davis needs help now that Cousins is out for the year. Candidates are point guard Jrue Holiday, shooting guard Rajon Rondo, and fellow forward E’twaun Moore. Those three contributed 55 points (Davis 26) in Wednesday’s loss at San Antonio.
