Lock down the Jaguars as a major threat a few years from now. 2017? Nope.

AFC Title contender? ⇓
The Jacksonville Jaguars are off to a hot start in the 2017 NFL season. They stand 5-3, in second place in the AFC South. And they’ve had big wins this year against top teams, like the Steelers and Bengals.
But this team is still nowhere near an AFC title. To suggest that outcome would be disrespectful to the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
I can’t remember the last time a QB with Bortles’ numbers took a team to a conference championship.
And while the Jaguars have an exceptional secondary, their run defense is nothing to get excited about. They’re below average in yards allowed to running backs. Top coaches, like Bill Belichick and Mike Tomlin, will pick on that weakness in the post-season … should the Jaguars make it there.
Lock down this team as a major threat a few years from now. In 2017? The Jags are nothing more than a possible Wild Card team.
