Packers, Playoffs, And Super Bowl

If the Packers can remain healthy, The Lombardi Trophy could return home.

In Wisconsin, the leaves are turning colors and the air is crisp. The only thing better than fall in Wisconsin is football in Wisconsin.

This year is no different–like so many other years. We again have two great football teams in the University of Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers.

But there’s something different this year.

The Green Bay Packers have started the season 4-1. And they’ve beaten playoff-contending teams along the way–the Seahawks, Bengals, and Cowboys.

While the defense–with rookies Kevin King and Josh Jones–continues to get better, the offense has shown resolve with the arrival of Aaron Jones. With Montgomery, the Packers now have a 1-2 punch at running back. And that not only gives the Packers a legit threat against opposing defenses, it takes pressure off Aaron Rodgers.

When you look at the rest of the schedule, it’s not hard to imagine the Packers running the table. Yeah, there are a few games that could pose trouble–at Pittsburgh, at Carolina, and the Bucs at home. But it seems to me that Job #1 is locking up a 1-seed in the playoffs.

The Packers have the talent on both sides of the ball and seem to be getting better each week. If the Packers can remain healthy, The Lombardi Trophy could return home.

If you think I’m alone in believing this, then think again. Just ask people around the state. You’ll hear them say that the Packers are something special!
