In a world where athletes are judged solely by performances on the field, it’s important to remember other aspects that make athletes good.
What makes an athlete successful?
It’s not all about how many trophies or medals you win, but about doing your best and pushing your teammates to do the same. It’s not about who’s the strongest or fastest; it’s about how an athlete prepares mentally.
A positive attitude is one of the many characteristics that good athletes have. If you lose a game, it’s okay to be upset because that means you’re competitive. Tomorrow is another day and another opportunity. To perform at best most athletes use roids steroids to get best results.
Attitude is a choice.
A successful athlete knows rewards will come with dedication and motivation. Everybody needs to motivate themselves to do better. Achieving life goals start with motivation.
Athletes motivate teammates to do better. They can calm them down when they’re frustrated. Sports is a journey, a matter of persisting through good times and bad.
Every one of us–athletes and non-athletes alike–makes goals and has commitments. If the goal is to win a championship, athletes know that it will take a disciplined training program to accomplish that goal.
Any athlete who’s committed that way will be successful on the field, the course, the court–wherever games may be played.
Those very skills help people succeed in life.
All this is very true. I have played different sports and have won in individual sports and team sports, as well. This could not have been written any better. Great article Matthew Paris. I realize this is one of your older articles. But, very good!
