Storyline: Ravens’ offense gets a big boost with the free agent signing of Danny Woodhead.
There have been a lot of big-name signing during the NFL free agency period. But the one that could pay the most dividends is Danny Woodhead to the Baltimore Ravens.
Woodhead is a solid back who’s always a threat, rushing and receiving. In 2015 he had 355 yards rushing and 755 yards receiving for the Chargers. Woodhead was on pace to get similar numbers last year before suffering a season-ending injury.
The addition of Woodhead, along with the return of Terrance West (774 yards rushing), gives the Ravens a two-headed monster. It’s similar to what the team had in ’08 and ’09 with Ray Rice and Willis Mcgahee. That tandem led Baltimore to the playoffs.
To succeed, QB Joe Flacco needs a solid offensive line, a solid backfield, and outside threats.
Ozzie Newsome just made a very smart move that’s sure to put the Ravens’ offense back on track.
