Storyline: Either way, for the Atlanta Falcons or for Tom Brady, I’m excited to witness history this Sunday.

This Sunday the New England Patriots will square off against the Atlanta Falcons on the biggest stage, the Super Bowl. History will be made on Feb. 5th no matter which team wins.

The Atlanta Falcons made their first ever Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl XXXIII, taking on John Elway and the Denver Broncos. Under Head Coach Dan Reeves the Falcons had come off one of its most successful seasons, posting a 14-2 regular season record. The game was played on Jan. 31st, 1999 at Pro Player Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The Broncos were going for back-to-back titles after defeating the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII. As fate would have it, the Denver Broncos would repeat and win Super Bowl XXXIII, 34-19. At 38 years of age Elway would prove to be the oldest Super Bowl MVP. And this would be the final game of his illustrious career.

The Atlanta Falcons could make history by winning the Super Bowl LI–bringing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Atlanta for the first time in franchise history. The challenge? The Falcons are taking on a dynasty in Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS – TOM BRADY

Whether he wins or loses on Feb. 5th, at issue is whether Tom Brady will go down as the greatest quarterback of all time. You can’t debate the issue without mentioning other great quarterbacks, players like Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, Bart Starr, Bret Favre, and Terry Bradshaw.

Tom Brady will be playing in his 7th Super Bowl, the most of any quarterback in NFL history. Brady has won four and lost two, tying Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw for most Super Bowl wins.

How will Brady make history? If he wins Super Bowl LI, he will win his fifth ring, which will give him more wins than any quarterback in Super Bowl history.

Who could have predicted what was to unfold back when Brady joined the Pats. When Brady was drafted and met Pat’s Owner Robert Kraft, he walked up to Kraft to introduce himself. “Hello, Mr. Kraft, I’m Tom Brady.” Kraft responded: “I know who you are, you’re our 6th Round quarterback pick.” Brady stared at him and said: “And it’s the best decision you’ll ever make.”
