Storyline: If John Harbaugh wants to remain in Baltimore beyond 2017, he’ll need to hire a guy to fix the O. Hire Rick Dennison, a guy who’s already done it!
Ok, let’s be real here. The Baltimore Ravens offense in 2016 was up, down, just average at best. There were some bright spots with Terrance West and Kenneth Dixon, but Baltimore really struggled to find consistency–even after firing Marc Trestman back in October.
It’s likely that John Harbaugh will be searching for a new OC in 2017 especially with his seat being hot. There will likely be a lot of names tossed around, like Chip Kelly and Greg Roman, but the Ravens ultimately need a guy who can get Joe Flacco back to his Super Bowl form.
Why not bring a guy who helped Flacco put up career numbers? That guy is Rick Dennison.
Dennison served as the QB Coach in 2014 when Flacco put up career numbers under HC Gary Kubiak. Dennison followed Kubiak to Denver, where he was a good OC, getting most out of a rusty Peyton Manning, replacement Brock Osweiler, and 7th-Round pick Trevor Siemian.
Most importantly, Dennison and Flacco are on the same page. Flacco knows the in’s and out’s of his offense so he won’t have to learn a new system, which is always good for a quarterback.
Bottom line: If John Harbaugh wants to remain in Baltimore beyond 2017, he’ll need to hire a guy to fix the O. Hire Rick Dennison, a guy who’s already done it!
