Storyline: The Terps got it done in the biggest game of the year.
Going into last Saturday’s game the Maryland Terrapins sat at 5-6 in the midst of a four-game losing streak, not to mention losing two freshman playmakers to suspension. But a lot was still on the line.
Winning its last game would make Maryland bowl-eligible.
And that’s just what the Terps did. Maryland pulled off a 31-13 win over Rutgers led by Ty Johnson, who had 168 yards on the ground.
Finishing the season 6-6 means a lot more then some might think, especially after finishing 3-9 last season. New head coach D.J. Durkin came in and has taken a relatively modest group (by talent) to a bowl game.
The win bodes well for the future, too.The Terps are not far away from being relevant again, largely because the staff has recruited well.
Look out for Maryland, football fans. The Terps are back!
