Storyline: So far, so REALLY good! Maryland football is on a roll. Can the Terps sustain success against Big Ten heavyweights? We’ll find out soon.
If you didn’t think the Maryland Terps were going to be for real this year, then think again! Say what you want about an easy schedule, but 4-0 is still 4-0 in FBS football.
Perry Hills hasn’t had to do as much as he did in the Randy Edsall-era scheme. Offensive coordinator Walt Bell has developed playmakers around Hills to generate success. For example, Ty Johnson–known as the ‘speed back’–had over 200 yards on only 7 carries in Saturday’s win against Purdue. Hills spread the ball around so that various players got involved in the offense.
A developing offense and an improving defense will be key in sustaining success when tougher opponents come to town.
Watch out for Maryland! This team could make noise in Big Ten East. Seriously!
