Summary: Cowboys and Raiders win and Redskins tie–all in OT–in excitement-filled Week 8 NFL play.
Week 8 in the NFL was full of excitement. Many games that will factor into playoff seeding.
The most exciting game came Sunday Night when the Dallas Cowboys rallied from a 23-13 deficit in the 4th quarter to beat the Philadelphia Eagles. Dak Prescott lead the offense on a great drive in OT when he threw the GW TD to Jason Witten.
Dak threw for two TDs in the game and running back Zeke Elliot added 96 yards on 22 carries on the ground. The Cowboys improved to 6-1, while the Eagles dropped to 4-3.
That wasn’t the only good game. The Raiders got the job done, beating the Tampa Bay Bucs, 30-24, also in OT.
Raiders’ QB Derek Carr became the 17th QB to throw for 500 yards in a game, throwing for 513 in the game. WR Seth Roberts caught the GW TD from Carr as the Raiders improved to 6-2. Carr has emerged as a potential MVP candidate.
Our local Reskins played the Cincinnati Bengals across the pond in London. Washington ended up in a tie 27-27 when Redskins’ kicker Dustin Hopkins missed a potential game-winning kick in OT. The ‘Skins now stand at 4-3-1 and head into a Bye Week.
Notable injuries happened over the weekend, too. Chiefs’ QB Alex Smith suffered a concussion in Sunday’s win over the Colts. Colts’ star CB Vontae Davis also exited Sundays loss with a concussion. Redskins’ receiver Desean Jackson left Sunday’s game against the Bengals with what looked like a serious injury, although the severity was not released by our press time.
