Storyline: It hasn’t been a great post-Manziel era in College Station, but things are on the rise. Texas A&M is ready to rumble.
As we near the end of summer and head towards fall camp there’s one team to keep an eye on–Texas A&M.
The offense has what could be the best duo in NCAA football with QB Trevor Knight and WR Christian Kirk. Knight threw for 3424 yards and 25 touchdowns in three seasons at Oklahoma, including a career-high 14 TDs his sophomore year. That season Knight led Oklahoma to an upset win the Sugar Bowl against an Alabama team that had been picked to win the national championship.
WR Christian Kirk is primed for yet another great season. As a freshman last year, Kirk caught 80 balls for 1009 yards and 7 TDs. And as a punt returner he averaged 24.4 yards per return and took two punts to the house.
On defense, the Aggies have a stud on D-line. Myles Garret is projected to exceed the 10+ sack mark.
I think Kevin Sumlin, not Nick Saban or Les Miles, will be taking his team to Atlanta for the SEC Championship.
SEC, Beware!
