Storyline: Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh played brilliantly in India’s clean sweep of Australia in Sydney. Written by Manish Kuamar Joshi, India
It was the glittering Sunday for India, winning the thrilling t-20 series with 3-0 clean sweep at the Sydney cricket ground. It was the fully Virat Kohli showdown where, once again, he smashed valuable 50 runs to make ease to India’s win. When he was on crease the host team seemed helpless on the field, facing glorious shots from this delighted batsman. He wanted to finish the game, but he could not because of his unfortunate dismissal. But Suresh Raina did his job tremendously to blitz 45 runs to ensure series win.
It was interesting match to watch. For a time India was in brittle position when Virat gave wicket weirdly and Yuvraj, who came to crease first time after landing to Australia, joined Suresh Raina. Yuvraj Singh ratated the strike to Raina, who was already on the crease to handle the situation. He placed the ball third man and onside to get fours almost in every over because it was hard to get the ball boundary. He was playing sensible cricket while, on the other hand, Yuvraj found himself to settled on the crease and played two or three dots ball, which make the match on the brittle position.
The last three over situations was tense as India needed 36 runs in remaining over. In the 18th over, Yuvraj eventually found his rhythm and smashed a six to close the target. In in the very next over, both get only 4 runs which restricted the rhythm of the match, but made it a very interesting game. India needed 13 runs in the last 6 balls.
Last over given to Tait who bowled pretty well in this match. But in the very first ball Raina found the way to boundary for four runs; and in the next two ball he got a couple of runs. At last, the touring team needed 2 runs in I ball. Watson came to Tait to get him to understand how to bowl. Raina was on the crease. Tais ran and Raina drove the ball for four runs, and India baged the series.
Before it was the Australian captain Watson’s show. He made 104 runs to achieve the target to 197–the highest in t-20 at Australia. He’s a good player of spin and found a lot of spinners to face. He was rampantly firing at the Sydney cricket ground, but it didn’t faze the Indian bowler, who poured the bowl. He smashed the shots everywhere he wanted.
