Storyline: Memo to Bulls’ coach, Fred Hoiberg: Play Joakim Noah! Written by Payton Hook, Galesburg, IL
In the game against the Bucks, Joakim Noah played 15 minutes! Just 15? That makes no sense to me. Former coach, Tom Thibidoux, started the best players. But it seems like Hoiberg doesn’t care for Jo’s game. Jo does not deserve this!
Last year, Noah started 67 games, this year he started in two games. Next year, when Jo comes back after shoulder surgery, Hoiberg needs to play him more.
Why is Noah struggling? Coach Hoiberg doesn’t want him to shoot, just pass and rebound. That’s it. Hoiberg believes more in the three-point shot.
Now, don’t get me wrong: Hoiberg is a good person, but he needs to play Jo more. Note that when Hoiberg says something to Jo, Jo shakes his head, Pau Gasol comes in for him, and Jo shakes his head again. You can see Jo’s frustration.
I’d sign Thibs to be the Bulls offensive coordinator, to help out Hoiberg. This could happen; stranger things have happened in the NBA.
Hoiberg is a rookie coach. I give him some credit. But if he wants more respect from Bulls’ fans, he needs to put Jo in the starting lineup next year.
