Will the Golden State Warriors Break the Record?

, ,

Storyline: DubNation sits at 20-0, 2 games better than last year. And, if we assume consistency, here’s one portrait of how the Warriors might end up: 75-7. That would break the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls’ record of 72-10. Written by Sean Chamber B. Tomarong, Digos City, The Philippines.

The Golden State Warriors remain undefeated, defeating the Charlotte Hornets, 116-99, to improve their record to 20-0.

Will Golden State be able to surpass the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls’ excellent 72-10 record? “We’re better than last year (last season),” said reigning MVP, Stephen Curry. And, truth be told, they are better than last year.

Let’s take a look at why:

They are the first-ever defending champs to start 20-0.

They broke the record to start a season, 15-0, set by the 1948-1949 Washington Capitols and the 1993-1994 Houston Rockets.

They’re undefeated without their head coach, Steve Kerr, winning under the tutelage of Assistant Coach Luke Walton.

Let’s compare this year with last year. Here’s how the DubNation performed last year during its 67-15 run.

1st 20 games – 18-2, overall record; 18-2
2nd 20 games – 16-4, overall record; 34-6
3rd 20 games – 14-6, overall record; 48-12
4th 20 games – 17-3, overall record; 65-15
Last 2 games – 2-0 , overall record, 67-15

So, at the 20-game point, DubNation sits at 20-0, 2 games better than last year. And, if we assume consistency, here’s one portrait of how the Warriors might end up: 75-7.  That would break the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls’ record of 72-10.

It’s theory but, hey, it’s not impossible either. But, no matter what, let’s sit back and enjoy!
