Another week is another opportunity to enjoy and bet on some fantastic European football. Here are five of the biggest talking points this weekend.

#1 – Top Two Do Battle in Serie A

Inter Milan and Napoli have both enjoyed fantastic starts in Serie A this term, and they serve up a tasty encounter on Monday night.  It’s a tough one to call: both are unbeaten in a number of matches (Inter hasn’t lost in seven), Napoli in twelve); both keep it tight defensively (Inter four consecutive clean sheets, Napoli five); and neither scores all that many goals (both have netted eight in their last five).

So it looks set to be a low-scoring draw, then, doesn’t it? One player who might have something to say about that is Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain, who tops the Serie A scoring charts with ten. But one thing is for sure: by Monday night we should know a little more about where the Italian top flight is set to shape up.

#2 – The Win is the Thing

Serie A’s Hellas Verona is one of the few sides left in Europe that has yet to win a game in 2015/16. But this weekend the team has a fantastic opportunity to stop the rot against fellow strugglers, Frosinone.

The omens aren’t great for Verona, however. They have scored just one goal in their last five league matches. The good news is that Frosinone has conceded 12 goals in their last four outings. The bad news is that the hosts have not lost in three at home. Verona will have it all to do, even though they won’t have a better opportunity to register their first win of the campaign. If you think they can do it, back them from 2.90.

#3 – Goals, Goals, Goals

There’s an interesting encounter in the Bundesliga this weekend. Borussia Dortmund, the division’s top and number 2 goalscorers (with 36 in 13) host Stuttgart, a team that ‘boasts’ the league’s worst defensive record, having conceded 31 goals. With the red hot Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the world-class Marco Reus, in the team it’s little wonder that many punters will fancy Dortmund to enjoy plenty of chances this weekend. You can back Over 2.5 Goals at 1.27, Over 3.5 Goals at 1.65, Over 4.5 Goals at 2.40, and even Over 5.5 Goals at 4.40 looks possible.

#4 – Bouncebackability

After their 0-4 mauling at the hands of Barcelona last Saturday, Real Madrid will be looking to bounce back this weekend. Unfortunately they travel to take on Eibar, a surprise package that has lost just twice all season, and only once at home. Real looked fantastic for the first hour against Shakhtar in the Champions League in midweek, steamrolling to a 4-0 lead. The Barca debacle was seemingly put well behind them. But their Ukrainian opponents came back with three late goals to set up a nervy finale for Rafa Benitez’s side.

There’s so much going on at the Bernabeu – from Cristiano Ronaldo’s rumoured unhappiness, to Gareth Bale’s complete lack of form, to Karim Benzema’s ongoing scandal off the pitch. You would imagine that Eibar will fancy the job on Sunday. You can back them with a Double Chance at 3.00 or with a +2 Handicap at 1.73.

#5 – Record Breaker?

On Saturday Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy has an opportunity to break a decade-old record in the English Premier League when he attempts to score for the ELEVENTH consecutive game. The downside for the 29-year-old is that his side faces a Manchester United team that has conceded just nine goals in thirteen league games–and just one in their last five. So Vardy has to achieve what 44 players have failed to do in recent weeks: find the net against Louis Van Gaal’s side. Vardy will be boosted by the news that Leicester has the premier League’s leading goalscorers so far this term. You can back him from 3.00 to break the record here.
