Storyline: Boleyn Ground, commonly known as Upton Park, has been a site for football in Britain since the early 20th Century. It is home to West Ham United, FC. Millions of fans have watched soccer matches there over the years … with thrills and miseries galore. The team will be moving soon to an Olympic-caliber stadium.
Upton Park, last night, as a many a critic would say,
Danced to the finest tunes from the Father Time say,
From souls in fens and cordillera in a way,
Sipping up an orgreat,
Watching ‘at was unfriable and a treat.
Art, is treasured in a form of Language,
Artistry, in a poetic bandage
Football and England, for once and all has seen,
Lads and bards with the ball, the club has ever seen,
Slaven Bilic, had a varied substance and style,
Of grace, humility and guile.
Behind the Carrols and the Payets,
He married philosophy with lads’s merits
and found solace in aficionados’’ heavens.
Jose, the erstwhile boss of the Stamford Bridge,
Was like a sorry picture of a wedge,
But, I have hope, in future, like a flounder,
He would swim fine through this shabby river.
Myself, a student, turned into a dossier
Of reports and prescriptions in sports,
Will forever remember this event of sporting largesse,
Till my lungs flop, and my flesh into the soil beneath, perish.
