Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire has released midfielder Shaun Maloney to the English Premier League’s, Hull City. Transfer details were not disclosed due to league and team policy.
Shaun Maloney is a Scottish international player who signed with the Chicago Fire club as a Designated Player. He came to the Fire in January of this year from the English Premier League’s, Wigan Athletic. Maloney had 3 goals and 2 assists over 14 matches during his brief Fire career.

Shaun Maloney is a Scottish professional footballer. He fills the attacking midfielder position and occasionally plays the winger. In addition to playing for Hull City, he’s also a permanent player on Scotland’s National Team.
Maloney began his football career at Celtic Athletic. He played a record 215 matches across all competitions. He scooped several honours. including five Scottish Premier League titles. Shaun also won five Scottish Cups.
He went on to sign with English Premier League Club, Aston Villa, when he was between two spells for Celtic Park. Maloney is the first ever player to be awarded the SPFA Player of The Year Award and the SPFA Young Player of The Year Award in the same season (2006).
He premiered internationally with Scottish National Team in 2005 and has gained 40 caps and scored 6 goals. In 2011, Shaun made a comeback to the English side with Wigan Athletic and won the 2013 FA Cup final. Then, in early 2015, he signed with the Chicago Fire.
