Baltimore Orioles Slump In July And Ready For A Fresh Month

, , ,

The Orioles have been quite the downfall of this summer with a record of 46-49 and losing quite frequently. As of right now, the Orioles are on a four game losing streak. With the trade deadline coming up in about a week, the Orioles might make some shocking moves. At the end of the year, Chris David and a favorite pitcher Wei-Yin Chen are both free agents and could possibly be traded. Hopefully we do not see these fan favorites head anywhere. The Orioles could be buyers this season for the deadline.

Some players that have been in connection with the Orioles are: Marlon Byrd (Reds), Gerardo Parra (Brewers), and Justin Upton (Padres). Also, some other players like Carl Crawford (Dodgers) and Shane Victorino (Red Sox) have been in the mix of names in connection with the trade deadline.

Last nights game against the Tampa Bay Rays was a win they needed. Although they lost, it was great to see pitcher Christ Tillman pitch one of his better games. He allowed only one run  This was Tillman’s 15th lost in his last 20 games. The Rays seem like they have always been a competition for the Orioles. The Orioles lost to the Rays 3-1. You win some and you lose some, as they say.

In Other Orioles related news, do you remember B-Rob, or Brian Roberts? Yes, Brian Roberts will be making an appearance. No, he will not be back on the roster, of course, but he will make his first appearance on MLB Network as a guest analyst. It will be on “MLB Central,” Tuesday’s ‘The Run Down” and “MLB tonight.” He will also appear on “MLB Tonight” on Wednesday.

The Orioles play the Rays again tonight at 6:10 and tomorrow at 1:10. The Orioles finally return home Monday with a series against the Atlanta Braves and the Detroit Tigers. What do you think will happen with the trade lineup coming up? Do you think it is possible for the Orioles to make it to the post-season?
