Storyline: The Warriors kept LeBron in check in Game 4 and the Cavaliers’ supporting cast didn’t produce. Golden State won going way.
This game was a statement for the Warriors–a loud, decisive statement–despite falling behind early, 7-0. They held LeBron in-check for the entire game, holding him to 5 points in the first 12 minutes. James shot 2-6 with a 3-pointer. The scoring load fell to other Cavaliers and they couldn’t deliver.
Game 4 was the first time in the series that LeBron was held under 10 points in the 1st Half. Without his scoring the Cavs had a hard time producing, even though they had a discernible rebounding advantage.
Golden State didn’t relent in the 3rd and 4th Quarters, either. There lead dwindled to 3, but the Warriors scooted ahead from there–scoring and defending Cleveland well.
With a combination of 3s, defensive stops, and a minor injury to LeBron James’ head, the Warriors were able to win going way. The final score was 103-82, Golden State.
We’ll see if the Warriors can sustain the momentum, back home, in Game 5.
