Storyline: Stopping Curry is the key. Plain. Straight. Direct.
We’ve gone through five games and so far and The Series has gone the way many thought it would. It’s 3-2 and the Warriors are up. It was not an ordinary back and forth series. Golden State has a little more momentum, winning both games 4 and 5, by a combined 34 points: 103-82 in Game 4 and 104-91 in Game 5.
The key to success seems to be Curry. For more on this topic, see “The NBA’s MVP is the Warrior’s VIP” article on this website. He scored 37 points in the Warriors Game 5 victory while shooting 56% from the field and 7-13 from the Promised Land. In a post-game interview, LeBron said “the Cavs are content with the way they defended Curry.” Ha! That’s funny.
For Game 6, the Cavs really need to stop Curry. If they let Curry put up 30+ points tonight, they will lose the most important game for the city since the ‘50s.
This game ultimately decides the city’s faith in LeBron James.
Can he keep them alive and in it for one more game or does the title run end once the 48-minute buzzer goes off?
