Note: With the filing of the consultant’s report to the NFL–that the Patriots likely deflated footballs intentionally in a NFL playoff game–our fans speak out.

All decent, civilized Americans love the Patriots.
All good and wholesome Americans love Tom Brady.
Brady is the symbol of all that is Godly and true in the American male. Dreamy eyes, toothy smile, athletic, charming, rich etc. He’s a winner. He’s regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time for the greatest dynasty of the greatest sport in the world. His abilities seem nothing short of supernatural. He’s handsome and kind.
But is he honest?
After viewing the dull-eyed babble of the team’s coach, Bill Belichick concerning deflation accusations (and after reading the childish rationalizations of Brady himself) it’s difficult to see America’s Golden Boy as nothing more than a spineless twerp, caught with his hand down his pants, in bed with an unfeeling sociopath.
“It’s not like I squeeze the football,” he explains. “I grip the football.”
To any grown man, who has ever taken responsibility for anything, this defense sounds like nothing more than a babyish excuse from a stooge.
Let’s look at facts. The world is in crisis. Muslim extremists rally and chant “Death to America!” as the Islamic State decapitates another innocent man or throws him off a building over a jeering mob. Medieval barbarism parades through the so-called “holy” regions of the earth, making a savage mockery of reason and democracy.
Most of the world’s popular icons and celebrities are flippant, emotionally-warped drug addicts, shameless exhibitionists, brazen sellouts, elitist phonies, or bloodthirsty gangsters. The news is full of sensationalism and lies.
Whatever beautiful truths there are to be found in this life will be found mired in the sleaze of globalized garbage being capriciously funneled through whatever social media craze is popular at the time.
Before the uncovering of this shameful Deflate-Gate scandal, the Patriots took Americans away from all that. They were real. They were honest. They were winners. They really were “that good.”
Tom Brady really was considered “the greatest of all time. Tom Brady was Jesus among savages!
But viewing Mr. Brady in that press conference (concerning his alleged deliberate deflation of regulation NFL footballs to gain an unfair advantage) one begins to see him in a new light. He’s a spoiled rich brat in a ridiculous winter beanie. His tittering guilty smile suggests a distorted sense of morality reminiscent of the sinister bastard, Smerdyakov from “The Brothers Karamazov,” who claimed that if there is no God, then all is permitted.
The same stupidity seems to apply to celebrity icons of religious proportion. If one is regarded as a God, then all is permitted.
Brady neither appreciates nor comprehends the gravity of his position in the world. Smerdyakov is the stupidest character in Dostoevsky’s masterpiece. And Tom Brady is the stupidest character in the unraveling tragedy of the modern world.
Belichick shrugs, a seasoned charlatan and cheater. Brady squirms and titters, a stupid boy. America suffers another disappointment.
