Star winger, Angel Di Maria has made a quite a noticeable impact on Manchester United’s success so far this season. EA Player Performance Index which keeps rankings of the best players for each club placed the 59.7 million pound signing at seventeenth overall and number one for his team. He was also voted Red’s Player of the Month for September.

At the moment, the Argentine has a total of three goals and three assists in five appearances, including a beautifully chipped goal against Leicester in their first meeting and surely one of the best goals of the season. From the looks of it, the 26 year old winger seems to be adjusting quite quickly to the physical nature of the Barclays Premier League.

“It’s a more physical, aggressive style of football here. Strength comes into play a lot more,” he told journalists at a commercial event for one of United’s sponsors. “Players here are a lot more powerful and show their strength a lot more. It’s another league, but it’s all about settling in as quickly as possible.

Ex United striker, Andy Cole compared the Argentinians first few appearances in the Premier League to that of another United legend. “I’ll be honest, the only person I’ve seen come to Manchester United and make such a good start was Dwight Yorke,” Cole told ManUtd.com. “He [Angel Di Maria] has played so well and given a little bit of spark. It’s what you always want when you come for that kind of money, everyone is expecting something special and he’s done just that.”

Current Manchester United assistant manager and ex winger, Ryan Giggs had some positive comments of his own regarding Angel Di Maria. “You don’t need to do a lot with him,” Giggs told the Manchester Evening News. “He gets bums off seats and he excites me. He’s the kind of player you love to watch.”
