Well, it’s that time of year again. There’s no NFL, NBA, March Madness, or College Football to keep our minds occupied on the weekends. The thought of sitting through nine brutal innings of MLB games not only makes me cringe but, I suddenly find myself YAWNING! Sorry baseball fans, but the truth is just that, and I occasionally cover the sport for work.

Also, I’m probably the lone individual who isn’t enamored with the World Cup. Despite tons of beautiful women that get together and watch the matches in Sports Bars and attracts us all, I still can’t seem to really get into this particular brand of Futbol. So in the spirit of reminiscing, I decided to list fifteen things that I miss the most about NCAA sports. Here they are in no particular:

1. Big East Basketball rivalries
2. Jerry Tarkanian chewing on his towel
3. Fab Five vs Duke
4. The Sugar Bowl
5. Miami Hurricane Football dominance
6. 1990, 1991 UNLV Men’s Basketball Team
7. Lou Carnesecca, John Thompson, P.J. Carlesimo, Rollie Massimino
8. Robert Montgomery Knight (Bobby) and his temper tantrums
9. UCLA Basketball dominance
10. Florida Gator Football dominance
11. The PAC-10
12. Maryland being in the ACC
13. Great UMass Basketball
14. Original Big East Basketball
15. John Chaney and Temple Basketball

Besides working in sports for a living, I’m also a die-hard fan. Certain things in life are just more valuable than money and lasting memories are in that category. The aforementioned list contain things that have help shape my life and love for sports. Happy Fourth!
