To all you Cleveland fans sitting back waiting for something good to happen to your sorry sports town, the king has returned. Drafting former Heisman trophy winner Johnny Manziel was sweet, but picking up a 2 time NBA champion, a 4 time MVP, the best player on the earth, must have been much more sweeter.
In 2010 LeBron left his hometown in the dust to go experience what a championship feels like with the Miami heat, but now LeBron is back to his hometown to show them what winning is like. Cleveland fans haven’t experienced what a championship feels like since the 1964 Cleveland Browns won the NFL championship. Could this upcoming season be the year? With a very powerful Cavs lineup including LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Anderson Varejao, and possibly Kevin love; it’s hard to see this team end up being a disappointment like so many Cleveland teams have been before.
Vegas has given the Cavaliers 3-1 odds of winning the championship, the best in the league. In a very weak Eastern Conference there are only a few teams that pose a threat to this team. The Chicago Bulls led by a healthy Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, and newly added Pau Gasol are one of these teams that stand in the way of the Cavaliers. Also the Indiana Pacers led by Paul George are a team many have forgotten about this off season. Other than the Bulls and Pacers there not many more powerhouses in the East that could take down the Cavaliers.
Now that LeBron is back, Cleveland fans can now enjoy the sport of basketball now that they have a legitimate NBA contender. They now can enjoy having their king back in town to help them achieve the goal they have been waiting for, a championship.
