Whether you are a LeBron James lover or hater, the Miami Heat look ready to make a three-peat and that is something all basketball fans must accept. If Miami succeeds, this will be the first three-peat since the Los Angeles Lakers 2000, 2001 and 2002 championship.
Though there is a still a tough road ahead, this article will examine and take a look at the most important keys to the Heat’s chances of a successful three-peat.
1) A Healthy Dwayne Wade.
Even though LeBron James is the focal point of Miami’s team, the Heat wouldn’t be as good as they are without Dwayne Wade. He has proven time and time again that you cannot doubt him. With 10 years of experience, Wade is still playing at the highest level. This postseason he is averaging 19.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game. His ability to attack the rim and get shots inside the paint is truly amazing. If Wade and his knees can hold up, Miami is that much closer to a three-peat.
2) Ray Allen’s Shooting
Last postseason, we saw just has important Ray Allen and his clutch shooting ability is to Miami’s success. Now that Miami no longer has Mike Miller, Allen’s clutch shooting ability is that more critical to Miami’s success.
So far this postseason, Allen is 37 percent from behind the arc, 92 percent from the free throw line and 49 percent from field goal range. The most important factor is that Allen doesn’t have a designated sweet spot; he can knock it down from anywhere on the floor, at any given time. Allen adds plenty of firepower to the Miami’s rotation and if Ray continues his sharp shooting, the Heat will win another championship.
3) The Big Men In Miami
The Miami Heat’s big men do not get their fair share of credit. Chris Bosh and Chris Andersen are vital components to Miami’s championship run. In Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Bosh finally came out of his shell and scored 25 points, was 7 for 12 from field goal range and also hit three three-pointers. Bosh gets his fair share of hate, but he always responds to criticism with big plays on both sides of the court and that is what makes his a vital key to Heat’s three-peat chances.
Chris Andersen has rebuilt his career with the Heat and his off the bench presence is very important to the Heat’s championship run. Andersen is currently averaging 17 minutes per game off the bench this postseason and in that short amount of time he makes a big impact with 5.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Andersen is remarkable on the defensive end as well. He provides defensive stability down the stretch and will cause problems for any big men that Miami will face.
4) LeBron James Is Still the Best
Even though he did not win this year’s MVP award, LeBron James is still the best player in the NBA.
This postseason, James has been hungry and aggressive. His performance this year has been truly amazing and it is hard to figure out how he continues to still grow. In Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, James had a double-double scoring 32 points and grabbing 10 defensive rebounds, which was a prefect response to Lance Stephenson’s pre-game comments calling LeBron’s trashing talking a “sign of weakness”. King James is also calmer than ever, after a poor perform in Game 5, James responded in Game 6 with a cool 25 points, four rebounds and six assists. The evolution of his game and maturity is truly amazing.
LeBron’s success is the biggest key to Miami’s hopes of a three-peat and with plenty of experience under his belt; I am truly believe that the King will deliver.
The Heat winning a third championship in a row will be a hard pill to swallow but NBA fans need to get ready because the King has Miami as the favorite to win it all again.
